COMMENTARY
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two days before the deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the NBA draft, West Virginia guard Jevon Carter has removed his name officially. He will enter his senior season as the most decorated returnee in the Big 12 and the backbone of what should be another top-20 Mountaineers team.
When Carter entered the draft pool April 24 he said he would not hire an agent, giving him the chance to receive NBA feedback without forfeiting his eligibility. Upon going uninvited to the NBA combine May 9-14, Carter seemed inclined to stay in college and had enrolled in a three-week summer school session.
