Jacksonville Jaguars sign WVU’s Marcus Simms to free-agent deal

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Marcus Simms was not selected in Wednesday’s NFL supplemental draft, but the former West Virginia wide receiver will still get a chance to make it in the league.

Simms and the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to an undrafted free agent contract, as reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissaro. Simms only needs to pass a physical on Thursday for the deal to become official.

Simms entered the supplemental draft after it became clear that he would not be academically eligible to play for the Mountaineers next season. He had 87 receptions for 1,457 yards and eight touchdowns in his three-year college career.
