Huggins rewards Logan Routt with open scholarship spot

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — The latest scholarship addition to West Virginia’s basketball roster has been there all along.

WVU head coach Bob Huggins said during a press conference Wednesday that 6-foot-11 center Logan Routt is back on scholarship for his senior season.

“He deserves it,” Huggins said. “He’s been on scholarship before. He’s had other (academic) scholarships where he had his tuition paid for. He’s never been without aid. This is a lot more comprehensive aid with the athletic scholarship than the other.”

Routt, who has played in 76 games over three seasons and scored a career-high eight points against Oklahoma last season in the Big 12 tournament, was on scholarship during the 2017-18 season.
