MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Icy gridlock on the roads. A stalled PRT on the rails.

Still, about 12,000 of the 13,000-plus ticketbuyers made it to the WVU Coliseum to see the Mountaineers waylay No. 1 Kansas.

Bob Huggins issued a personal thank you.

“For 12,000 people to show up here on this night is unbelievable,” he said. “That’s fighting through some things. I know there were people still coming in the second half. It would’ve been very easy for those people to go watch it on TV.”

A packed student section kept the arena energized until the end, when overflow students from the upper sections descended and clogged the aisles—anticipating the Third Annual KU Courtstorming.
