MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — After West Virginia reliever Jackson Sigman tore through the Pitt lineup to close out Tuesday night’s 2-0 win, he knelt with teammates and shed tears over what might have been the senior’s final home game.

“This has been an amazing three years that I’ve been here,” said Sigman (4-4), who retired all 10 batters he faced after coming on in the sixth inning. “I’m going to miss games like tonight where fans are rocking and it’s a great environment.”

Some 2,815 fans turned out for the regular-season home finale at Monongalia County Ballpark, where the Mountaineers (31-20) won their fourth straight game thanks to freshman Isaiah Kearns and Sigman combining on a three-hitter.
