IRVING, Texas — West Virginia’s Bria Holmes was a unanimous All-Big 12 selection, Lanay Montgomery made the all-defensive team and Tynice Martin was named the league’s top freshman Wednesday.
League coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Holmes ranks second in the Big 12 at 16.9 points per game and eighth at 3.6 assists. She joined Rosemary Kosiorek as the only players in Mountainteers history to earn first-team all-conference honors three times.
“What can you say about Bria Holmes? She will go down as one of the greatest players to put on the West Virginia University uniform,” coach Mike Carey said.
