Holgorsen: ‘We’ve done what we’ve supposed to do’ during 2 blowouts

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Walloping East Carolina and Delaware State by an aggregate score of 115-36 didn’t return West Virginia to the AP top 25. What those blowouts accomplished, however, was allowing streams of inexperienced backups to get an extended taste of game action.

“You can say what you want to — we’ve done what we’ve supposed to do these last couple of weeks,” coach Dana Holgorsen said Tuesday. “We came up short in that first game (vs. Virginia Tech), but we’ve done what we’ve supposed to as a football team, as a football program, these last two weeks and we’re ready to move on to Big 12 play.
