MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The record number of awards continue to roll in, as West Virginia University freshman right-handed pitcher Michael Grove has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season.
The award is the 10th weekly honor for the Mountaineers in 2016, the most in a season since WVU joined the Big 12 for the 2013 season. It is tied for the most of any school in the conference this year.
Grove, who was also recognized on April 25, has helped WVU to a conference-best four Newcomer of the Week accolades.
