An estimated crowd of 4,207 came out to see the Mountaineers’ half-hour team scrimmage at WesBanco Arena in downtown Wheeling.
Freshman guard James Bolden scored 12 points to lead the Gold team to a 55-45 victory over the Blue, which got a scrimmage-best 19 points from senior forward Nathan Adrian for the Blue.
“I think he’s playing pretty well in the post and he’s really shooting the ball well,” said Huggins. “I think he’s way more confident. He’s making shots, which helps all of us. When the ball goes in that’s a wonderful thing.
