MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Behind a Big 12 title senior Kaitlyn Gillespie, the West Virginia University track and field team completed the first of three days of competition at the 2015 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship at the Cyclone Sports Complex in Ames, Iowa, earlier tonight.
Gillespie raced to a Big 12 Championship in the 10,000 meters, crossing the line in a career-best time of 33:45.56. The time is the second-fastest mark in program history.
The Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, native shattered her previous-best time in the event of 34:10.60 set during the 2011 outdoor season.
