Get to Know the Olympic Mountaineers

With the start of the 2016 Olympics in Rio over the weekend, the Mountaineers sent 11 current and former students to compete in the games. By now, you’ve probably seen that sophomore Virginia "Ginny" Thrasher brought home the first gold medal of the games by beating a two-time gold medalist in the 10-meter air rifle competition on Saturday. Meet the other Mountaineers competing for Olympic glory.

Natalie, a 2012 graduate and member of the WVU’s Women’s Basketball team, is playing for the Australian Women’s basketball team. Australia, in Group A, currently sits 2-0 (4 points) in group play with games against France and Japan due this week.
