Week one of the NFL preseason has concluded. The NFL preseason is a great opportunity for undrafted free agents and late round draft picks to standout trying to earn a roster spot on the 53-man roster. One of those undrafted free agents is a former Mountaineer quarterback that turned wide receiver in his journey to make an NFL roster.
Garrett Greene was the starting quarterback for WVU for two full seasons from 2023-2024 after taking over the role late in the 2022 season – however, he is now catching passes in the NFL preseason. The former quarterback signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a wide receiver this offseason, and caught two passes for 22 yards in the team's 29-7 win over the Tennessee Titans in the first week of NFL preseason action while also adding a 17-yard punt return.
