Former WVU Football QB Unable To Play His Way Onto Final NFL Regular Season Roster

A former WVU football starting quarterback had an impressive preseason as he embarks on his rookie year in the NFL -- but it was not quite enough to play his way onto organization's final roster.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made their final round of roster cuts ahead of the Tuesday, August 26 deadline to establish a final 53-man roster, and Garrett Greene -- who was the signal caller at WVU but transitioned to wide receiver as he looks to make a professional career out of the sport -- was among the final players who were waived or released to keep the Bucs under the roster cap.
