The WVU baseball program has former players scattered throughout the MLB, and many of them are shining and performing very well. Most WVU baseball fans and WVU fans in general are familiar with JJ Wetherholt, Victor Scott II, and Alex Manoah, but there's another former player who has recently made a great start for his major league team.
In a matchup between the San Diego Padres and the Philadelphia Phillies, former Mountaineer Ryan Bergert got the starting nod for the Padres and finished the game, striking out seven Phillies in his 4.2 innings of work last Friday.
