Former West Virginia Mountaineers running back Wendell Smallwood has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Smallwood, a fifth round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016, won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2017. He was released in 2019 and signed with the Washington Redskins. With the Eagles, Smallwood displayed his talented versatility by being a threat both on the ground, rushing for 4.0 yards per carry, and in the air, averaging over 8 yards per catch.
Smallwood proved to be an electric, talented running back the moment he stepped on the field with the Mountaineers.
