This week, the Mountaineers, 34-10 winners over TCU on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown, are now No. 9 in the Amway Top 25 Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released earlier this afternoon.
That’s a jump of four spots in last week’s coaches poll and two spots in last week’s AP poll.
It’s West Virginia’s first appearance in the Top 10 since October 7, 2012 when the Mountaineers were ranked fifth after a 5-0 start to the season.
West Virginia’s 6-0 start this season is its best since 2006 when the Mountaineers were 7-0 before losing at Louisville in a battle of top 5 football teams to begin November.
