MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 30, 2016) - West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that redshirt senior safety Khairi Shariff and redshirt junior Jon Lewis have been awarded scholarships for their hard work, determination and performance on and off the field.
“West Virginia football players are expected to live up to a standard of what a Mountaineer should be,” Holgorsen said. “I am extremely proud of Khairi and Jon, and I am happy to award them scholarships. They are two veteran walk-ons, who not have already earned playing time on the field but have done more than what was asked of them off the field.
