MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia junior guard Tynice Martin announced she will be sidelined throughout the preseason by a foot injury sustained during USA Basketball national team trials two weeks ago.
Martin underwent surgery in Colorado Springs, Colo., where the under-23 team tryouts were being staged, and said doctors anticipate her returning to action in November. The Mountaineers women open the season Nov. 10.
During a video released on social media Tuesday, Martin called the injury, “A little road block, but I’ll be back shortly. See everyone soon. Let’s Go Mountaineers!”
