MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — To understand the enormity of playing Virginia Tech in this season’s opener, you only have to ask Grant Lingafelter when he and West Virginia tackle Yodney Cajuste took it upon themselves to begin digging into film of the Hokies’ front seven.
It began back on Jan. 4, the day players reported for winter conditioning.
“We sat and watched it that first day,” Lingafelter said. “We knew it’s a big game and they’re a great team, so we had to get a head start on it.”
A fifth-year senior with 14 games worth of experience but zero college starts, Lingafelter treats his promotion to first-team right guard with obsessive gravity.
