Duo Earns Multiple Top-10 Finishes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Rising junior Ginny Thrasher of the West Virginia University rifle team finished second in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions on May 28, at the 27th Meeting of the Shooting Hopes junior event in Pilsen, Czech Republic.

A 2016 Olympic Gold medalist and a two-time NCAA Champion, Thrasher shot 451.1 in the final. She advanced following a fifth place, 581 (194 kneeling, 199 prone, 188 standing) showing in the qualification relay.

Mountaineer teammate Morgan Phillips, a rising sophomore, finished seventh in the event with a 394.9 mark. The 2017 NCAA smallbore champion finished sixth in the qualification relay with a 580 (194 kneeling, 195 prone, 191 standing) mark.
