Making her first start of the season, Fred Potvin scored a career-high 19 points, with a career high-tying five 3-pointers, to lead the Pitt women past Virginia, 58-55, Sunday in Charlottesville, Va., for the Panthers’ first ACC victory of the season.
Potvin made her first four 3-point attempts and finished 6 of 12 from the field overall, while sophomore Stasha Carey and freshman Brenna Wise each added 12 points and seven rebounds for Pitt (9-11, 1-6). Wise was 10 of 12 from the free-throw line.
“I am so proud of the way this team battled,” coach Suzie McConnell-Serio said.
