MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — David Sills, having given his quarterback dream a final shot, is returning to West Virginia where he plans to play receiver.
Sills re-signed with the Mountaineers late Wednesday, six months after transferring to El Camino College in Torrance, Calif.
“I just wasn’t ready to give up quarterbacking. That’s where my heart is,” Sills told the Los Angeles Times in August.
He completed 127-of-237 passes for 1,636 yards with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season, while running for 258 yards and five scores. That wasn’t enough to show he could play quarterback at a Power 5 program, but the 6-foot-4 Sills possesses the length and athleticism to make a splash at receiver.
