Column: Joseph on patrol in secondary and West Virginia’s locker room

COMMENTARY

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A week before West Virginia went about strangling Georgia Southern’s option attack, Karl Joseph was on the verge of strangling his teammates.

He took the floor, and some of his buddies to task, because the previous Saturday’s mock game lacked the requisite intensity.

“I just kind of got mad. I just felt like everybody was too relaxed,” Joseph said. “I know what it takes to win in this league, and we need everybody to be bought in and locked in.”

Defensive coordinator Tony Gibson called Joseph’s address to the team “spot-on.
