Bria Holmes scored 23 points and Lanay Montgomery had 15 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks to help No. 24 West Virginia close out Iowa State, 57-47, Wednesday night at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va.
It was tied at 45-45 with 3:19 left before West Virginia closed on a 12-2 run. Montgomery started the spurt with a three-point play and Holmes knocked down two free throws with 57.5 seconds left for a two-possession lead.
Arielle Roberson tied a career high with 17 rebounds for West Virginia (19-6, 8-4 Big 12).
Seanna Johnson led Iowa State (12-11, 4-8) with 19 points and eight rebounds.
