MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestling operations assistant Clarissa Chun took third place while assistant coach Nick Marable dropped a close match for third at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
The two were coached by WVU coach Sammie Henson for Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club. Marable and Chun train in Morgantown at the Mountaineer Regional Training Center.
Chun started the day with back-to-back tech. falls. She defeated Alesha Zapitella, 12-0, before topping Nicole Woody, 14-4, to advance to the semifinals. Chun dropped her semifinal bout, 9-2, to Victory Anthony to drop to the consolation side of the bracket.
