West Virginia’s Chad Donato not only halted Baylor’s run production on Friday, he also only allowed two hits. From there, the WVU baseball team’s bats did the rest of the work in a 10-0 victory over a talented Big 12 opponent.
Currently in the conference standings, West Virginia is right in the middle of the pack. But not tonight, he is at the top of the heap.
For his brilliant pitching performance against the Bears, Donato has been named the National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers.
“I’m really proud of what Chad has done all year,” WVU coach Randy Mazey said.
