MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Shelton Gibson is in camp with the Eagles, Daikiel Shorts is training with the Bills, and Jovon Durante’s junior season remains in limbo.
Yet there’s no talk of a dropoff for West Virginia’s receiving unit in 2017, because the understudies enjoyed such a promising offseason.
“We’ve got a group of guys who can track the ball really well and come down with those big catches,” said receivers coach Tyron Carrier. “We’re going to let them go and make plays.”
While sophomore Marcus Simms looks like the top deep threat, David Sills stunned defensive backs during his original stint as a Mountaineer in 2015.
