MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After leading the West Virginia University volleyball team in kills for the second week in a row and helping WVU to a 2-1 mark at the Capital Classic last weekend, freshman outside hitter Payton Caffrey has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Chuluota, Florida, native ranked second in the Big 12 in kills per set with 5.33, and recorded 26 or more kills in each match. She led WVU with 27 kills, a trio of blocks and seven digs in a five-set win over Indiana State.
