Bye Week Provides No Help to Mountaineers

Finally a shift in the Top 5! The USC Trojans, who traveled to Pullman, Washington to take on Mike Leach’s Washington State Cougars. The Cougars kicked a go-ahead field goal with 1:40 left and watched as Jahad Woods sacked Heisman hopeful Sam Darnold, knocking the ball loose and ending the Trojans hope for a victory. The Trojans fall 9 spots to #14 while the Cougars move up 5 to #11.

Alabama Crimson Tide, despite beating Ole Miss Rebels 66-3, lost first place votes. The Clemson Tigers took on West Virginia’s week one opponent, Virginia Tech Hokies, winning easily 31-17.
