MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer All-American Kadeisha Buchanan has earned the 2015 Soccer News Net Women’s College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.
Today’s honor is just one of many awards the defender earned following her third season as a Mountaineer. Currently training with the Canadian Women’s National Team for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Buchanan, a finalist for the 2015 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, also earned her second straight NSCAA All-America First Team award, as well as her third consecutive Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honor.
A native of Brampton, Ontario, Buchanan, a team captain, led the Mountaineers to a program-best 19 victories, as well as bid to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight and WVU’s fourth straight Big 12 Conference regular-season title.
