MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer senior defender Kadeisha Buchanan has been named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Today’s honor is the fifth career weekly award for Buchanan, a two-time NSCAA All-America First Team honoree and the three-time reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The recognition follows a stout showing by the No. 4-ranked Mountaineers’ defense at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium last weekend, as the squad posted a shutout in a 1-0 victory over then-No. 8 Clemson on Aug. 26 and held Saint Francis to just three shots in a 3-1 win on Aug.
