MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– West Virginia University women’s soccer seniors Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence will play for Bronze at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games, as Canada fell to Germany, 2-0, this afternoon, in a semifinal match at Mineirão Stadium, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Third-place finishers at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, Canada will face host Brazil on Friday, Aug. 19, at noon, at Arena Corinthians, in São Paulo, Brazil.
Today’s defeat is Canada’s first in Brazil. Just one week ago, Canada earned a 2-1 victory over Germany in the final Group F match on Aug.
