MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence have extended their stay at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, as the duo helped Canada defeat France, 1-0, tonight, in a quarterfinal match, at Arena Corinthians, in São Paulo, Brazil.

Scoreless more than 10 minutes into the second half, Sophie Schmidt punched the Canadians’ ticket to the final four, as she connected on a service from Janine Beckie near the back post in the 56th minute.

For the third time in the Games, Buchanan and Lawrence each played the full 90 minutes. Neither earned a shot.
