MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Devin Brown went 4-1 on the day to finish third in his freestyle weight class at the 2017 Phil Portuese Northeast Regional at Koehler Field House in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
Brown represented the Morgantown-based Mountaineer Regional Training Center (MRTC) at 57 kilograms at the event.
“This is a great start for the MRTC and WVU wrestling,” WVU coach Sammie Henson said. “Freestyle wrestling makes champions and keeps our student-athletes focused in the offseason. Devin represented well at the NE Regional. We look forward to more success at University Nationals at the end of the month.
