The decision was made after last Friday’s scrimmage, and a late waiver approval from the NCAA didn’t deter West Virginia Mountaineers head coach Neal Brown from sticking with that decision.
Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Austin Kendall will be the starting quarterback for the Mountaineers for the 2019 season. Brown made the announcement during his weekly press conference this afternoon, noting that the coaching staff had tracked everything from completion percentage to scoring drives from spring practice to fall camp and Austin stood out from his competition in Jack Allison and Trey Lowe.
