CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia on Thursday extended scholarship offers to a pair of Kanawha Valley football standouts — one an established veteran and another an up-and-coming talent.

Capital rising senior quarterback/defensive back Kerry Martin, Jr. and South Charleston rising sophomore defensive end Zeiqui Lawton both received offers from the Mountaineers.

Martin, 6-foot-2, 188 pounds, is coming off of a junior season where he threw for 2,532 yards and 32 touchdowns (8 interceptions), while rushing for another 1,072 yards and 17 more scores.

Some of Martin’s other offers include Marshall, Army, Cincinnati, Howard, Miami (OH), Rutgers, Toledo and Western Kentucky.
