PHILADELPHIA — Felix Angerer’s third goal of the season led the West Virginia men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Penn on Tuesday night.

The Mountaineers (8-5-1) and junior goalkeeper Jose Santos produced their eighth shutout, building on momentum from Saturday’s 3-1 upset victory at then-No. 22 Akron.

The Quakers (4-5-5) outshot West Virginia 5-3 in the first half before Angerer scored in the opening six minutes of the second half.

“We didn’t have our best first 45 minutes, we had a little bit of a hangover from the Akron match,” WVU coach Marlon LeBlanc said.
