WASHINGTON, D.C. – Albert Andres-Llop’s hot streak continued with a goal and an assist continued as West Virginia downed American 3-0 in men’s soccer on Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountaineers (5-1-2) scored twice during a three-minute span of the first half, and goalkeeper Stephen Banick made two saves to shut out American (1-6-1).
Freshman Tom Shepherd gave West Virginia the lead at 20:04, scoring his first goal a header off a free kick by Andres-Llop.
Two minutes later Andres-Llop made it 2-0, drawing a pass from Jad Arslan and scoring from 6 yards out. It was the fourth goal on the three-game road swing for Andres-Llop.
