Amidst uncertainty, Neal Brown ‘cautiously optimistic’ on playing football this fall

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Six weeks after the shutdown of all college sports and four months from the scheduled start of football season, WVU head coach Neal Brown and his staff continue to project a number of scenarios on how to best prepare the Mountaineers for the 2020 season.

The second-year West Virginia frontman approves of the patient approach from leaders in Big 12 Conference to make assessments throughout the months to come.

“I remain hopeful and cautiously optimistic about playing football this fall,” Brown said. “I think what we have done as a league, and I think we have done a nice job led by Commissioner (Bob) Bowlsby and our athletic directors is taking a wait-and-see approach and not getting too far out in the future.
