After West Virginia’s road loss to Texas on Feb. 16, Huggins criticized the fans, or lack of fans, at the WVU Coliseum this season. Well, as the Mountaineers came back home later that week, a large throng of West Virginia fans welcomed back their team. They were waiting for the visiting Oklahoma Sooners and got on them from the opening tip.
Unfortunately, the Sooners beat the Mountaineers. But, the good news was, that the announced crowd of 15,289 was the seventh largest attendance at the WVU Coliseum since its opening in 1970.
