Several Mountaineer football players were seeking eligibility for the 2025 season by taking the NCAA to court over its eligibility rules. It was less than two weeks away from kickoff when the Mountaineers received the answer from U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey. With Judge Bailey’s decision in favor of the four players becoming eligible, the Mountaineer football program adds much needed depth and legit talent.
Jimmori Robinson, Tye Edwards, Justin Harrington, and Jeff Weimer will play for the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2025. This is terrific news for a program that kicks off a new era under Rich Rodriguez in less than a week.
