Wolves to swoop for Julen Lopetegui with the Spanish boss set to leave Sevilla this week and pave the way for him to possibly succeed Bruno Lage in the Molineux dugout

Wolves target Julen Lopetegui is set to leave Sevilla in the coming days to pave the way for a possible move to Molineux.

Though not the sole candidate, Lopetegui is high on Wolves’ list to succeed Bruno Lage, who was sacked last Sunday following the 2-0 defeat at West Ham the previous day. For the trip to Chelsea on Saturday, Under-18 coach Steve Davis is expected to be in the technical area along with Under-21 boss James Collins.

Yet there is growing expectation in Spain that Lopetegui’s three-year tenure will come to an end, possibly after tonight’s/Wednesday’s Champions League meeting against Borussia Dortmund.
