West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma issued an apology Tuesday after a video was posted showing him kicking and slapping his pet cat.
Ben Leo and Andy Robinson of The Sun published the footage, which was originally posted on Snapchat by Zouma's brother. Jacob Whitehead of The Athletic provided the Premier League player's statement:
"I want to apologise for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret. I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video.
"I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.
