West Ham tracking the progress of New York City striker Valentin Castellanos

Manchester City's sister club in America are braced for Premier League interest in MLS top goalscorer Valentin Castellanos.

The Argentine scored as New York City beat Portland Timbers on penalties to lift the MLS Cup last weekend, taking his tally for the season to 23 across all competitions.

He has been in particularly impressive form over the past few weeks as he scored in each of his side's last four games during the regular season.

The forward then followed that up by finding the net in the three matches that he featured in during the MLS Cup play-offs, meaning he has nine goals in his last seven club appearances.
