West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku issues apology after he was sent off for spitting at Wigan's Nick Powell

West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku has issued an apology after he was sent off for spitting at Wigan's Nick Powell during the Hammers' shock defeat on Saturday afternoon.

The French left-back was shown a straight red card four minutes after the restart as the League One side led through a Will Grigg opener in the seventh minute.

Masuaku now faces a lengthy suspension, which will come at a bad time for West Ham given their pile-up of injury problems.
