West Ham and the owners of the London Stadium have appointed a former Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner to help solve the crowd trouble that has plagued them at their new home.

Chris Allison CBE, who was the London 2012 National Olympic Security Coordinator and security advisor to the 2015 Rugby World Cup, has been brought in following scenes of violence during West Ham’s defeat against Watford on Saturday.

Some supporters are facing life bans from the stadium if found guilty by CCTV evidence.
