The Hammers exposed Everton's vulnerability at set-pieces when Robert Snodgrass' inswinging free-kick was headed in on 40 minutes, but the Toffees equalised just four minutes later.
Both teams lacked invention at the London Stadium and David Moyes' side did little to appease fans who protested against the owners before kick-off at the London Stadium.
