'Unless I'm told differently...he will be here': Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he expects defender James Tarkowski to remain at Turf Moor despite summer interest from Leicester and West Ham

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has said he expects James Tarkowski to remain at the club past the October 5 transfer deadline.

The 27-year-old centre-back has been the subject of interest from both Leicester and West Ham during the transfer window.

Both clubs however have struggled to meet Burnley's valuation of the player which is believed to be around £50m.

James Tarkowski was heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor in the past few months
Boss Sean Dyche says he expects Tarkowski to stay with the club past Monday's deadline day
Burnley are currently pointless but Tarkowski's return to action will be a huge boost for them

Dyche told Sky Sports: 'He (Tarkowski) is an important player to us, he's a very good player.
