Premier League clubs are banning their stars from taking commercial travel despite allowing them time off following the decision to suspend competition.
While a number of teams, including Manchester United, will continue to train as normal, a host of clubs have given their players an extended break after Friday’s suspension in domestic and European football.
But a number of clubs have placed major travel restrictions on squads that include taking any commercial travel whilst they rest to minimise the threat of catching the Coronavirus.
As well as the threat posed by public travel, club medical departments are particularly mindful of their players, who are multi-million pound assets, walking through airports and train stations given the obvious risks involved.
