Police warning for upset Hammers: Stop calling us when you lose

While West Ham's form has been criminal at times, the police have urged fans to stop phoning them to report it as such.

The Hammers slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Watford on Sunday in David Moyes' first game in charge, leading one particularly irked supporter to ring the emergency services to complain.

Ringing 999 because @WestHamUtd have lost again and you aren't sure what to do is not acceptable! It is a complete waste of our time. #999foremergenciesonly

After the match, the Essex Police Force Control Room warned fans that dialling 999 just to moan about poor football results constitutes a very serious waste of police time.
